These projects require either the IrTx, SIrTx, SerialPIC, InfraPIC or BitStream modules to be constructed. Full construction details of all these interfaceses can be found in the Interface guide available from the downloads page. The individual project pages also contain links for downloading source code and hex files.

PIC Assembler Projects :

• Hello Palm via IrTx
  The "Hello Palm" program for use with the IrTx interface and 16F84 or 16F628.
  
• Hello Palm in "Framed mode" via IrTx
  Demonstrates "Framed data" mode for use with the IrTx interface, 16F628 and PDAs which do not support raw SIR mode (such as Palm Zire21).
  
• Frequency Counter via IrTx
  A simple Frequency Counter for use with the IrTx interface and 16F628.
  
• Digital Voltmeter via IrTx
  A simple 5V Digital Voltmeter for use with the IrTx interface and 12F675.
  
• Ping-Pong via SerialPIC or InfraPIC
  Demonstrates bi-directional communication (wired & wireless) using the bit-bang method, and also using the onboard USART/ISR method for the 16F628 .
  

PIC Basic Projects :

• Hello Palm via SIrTx
  The "Hello Palm" BASIC program for testing the SIrTx interface with a 16F628.
  
• Hello Palm in "Framed mode" via SIrTx or InfraPIC
  Demonstrates "Framed data" mode for using the SIrTx or InfraPIC interface with the PIC16F628 and PDAs which do not support raw SIR mode (such as Palm Zire21).
  
• Ping-Pong via SerialPIC or InfraPIC
  Demonstrates bi-directional communication (wired & wireless) using the SERIN and SEROUT commands.
  

PIC C Projects :

• Hello Palm using 'C'
  Demonstrates how a PIC 'C' compiler can be used to modulate an output signal to drive a "cheap and cheerful" infra-red transmitter, with minimal external components.
  
• PIC Serial to Infra-red Converter using 'C'
  Demonstrates how a PIC 'C' compiler can be used to convert a serial TTL bitstream to an infra-red bitstream, using a "cheap and cheerful" infra-red transmitter.
  

Other Projects :

• Infra Red Scope via BitStream
  Demonstrates how to use BitStream to capture and display the infra red data signal transmitted from the remote control of a consumer device (eg TV remote control).
  
• Half-Duplex Serial <-> Infra-Red Converter
  Demonstrates how to use the SerialPIC and InfraPIC interfaces back to back, to produce a half-duplex Serial RS232 to Infra-Red (SIR) bi-directional converter.
